Ramadi Project Receives Official Positive Feedback

The substation has demonstrated excellent operational performance since commissioning, reflecting strong execution standards, high-quality equipment, and successful adaptation to Iraq’s environmental conditions.

Continuous on-site monitoring and close coordination among project teams have further contributed to its sustainable and efficient performance.

Funded by the German Development Bank (KfW) and executed by Matelec under the supervision of Central Transport, the 132kV/33kV GIS Substation in Ramadi, Central Iraq, is part of the Ministry of Electricity’s projects in Anbar Province. It supports the government’s congestion relief program while addressing the growing electricity demand of the local population.

The substation consists of three 90MVA, 132/33kV power transformers and two 31.5MVA, 33/11kV transformers, all manufactured by Matelec, ensuring reliable and efficient power transmission to meet the needs of Ramadi’s expanding population.
