M’Ghaïer Tendla 200 MW Photovoltaic Project Completion

Matelec is proud to announce the successful completion of its collaboration with CSCEC Algeria (China State Construction Engineering Corp. Ltd.) on the 220 kV High Voltage Substation and extension works, part of the M’Ghaïer Tendla 200 MW Photovoltaic Project in Algeria.

Commissioned by Société Algérienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz – Énergie Renouvelable (sonelgaz), this project stands as a key milestone in Algeria’s national renewable energy strategy and was officially inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal.

– Capacity: 200 MW solar PV plant with ~364,000 solar panels
– National strategy: part of a 2,000 MW program across 12 wilayas
– Economic impact: over 500 jobs created during the implementation phase

This achievement reflects Matelec’s commitment to delivering complex energy infrastructure and contributing to the acceleration of the energy transition in the region.
