With 50+ years of expertise, operations in 35+ countries, and 300+ completed projects, we deliver comprehensive power solutions for Transmission & Distribution, Power Generation, and Renewables projects.

Our Core Expertise

We manufacture high-performance electrical products and we also provide sustainable energy solutions. Our product range includes power and distribution transformers, low-voltage switchboards, medium-voltage switchgear, control and protection panels, prefabricated package substations as well as modular and mobile substations, E-houses, and eco-friendly green transformers, ensuring efficient and safe power generation, transmission, and distribution.

We also offer turnkey engineering and contracting solutions for power infrastructure worldwide, covering high-voltage conventional and renewable power plants as well as VHV/HV/MV AIS & GIS substations. We manage every phase, from design, project management, civil works, to equipment supply, installation, and commissioning, even in challenging environments.

Establishment of Matelec SAL in Lebanon for the manufacturing of distribution transformers.
1980
Launched production of medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchboards, package prefabricated outdoor substations, and control and protection systems.
1987
Development of the Engineering and Contracting division, dedicated to executing complex HV, MV, and LV projects.
1992
Establishment of ELICO in Jordan, in partnership with the Jordan Electrical Sector, for the manufacturing of distribution transformers and package substations.
1994
Realization of the first HV Air-Insulated Substation project.
1996

Realization of the first HV Gas-Insulated Substation project.

Establishment of ITM in Egypt for the manufacturing of distribution transformers.

Realization of the first >300kV AIS substation project.
2007
Turnkey execution of the first thermal power plant project and realization of the first 400kV AIS substation project.
2009
Acquisition of Ediel in Algeria, a company specializing in prefabricated packaged substations and MV/LV switchboards.
2011
Inauguration of the power transformer manufacturing plant.
2016
Realization of the first 400kV GIS substation project.
2022
Launch of Matelec’s ESG strategy, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and responsible practices.
2023
Engagement in the UN Global Compact, with a commitment to align with UN principles and report annually on selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
2025
Launch of the expansion plan aiming at increasing the production capacity of the Power Transformers factory.

Our manufacturing workshops operate under rigorously certified quality management systems, ensuring that every product meets our superior standards. With over 50 years of experience and a continuous commitment to research and development, we have built a legacy of excellence in quality.
Our production processes are safeguarded by comprehensive Quality Control Plans (QCPs), meticulously designed to detect any potential defects stemming from engineering or manufacturing flaws. These plans are implemented at every stage of production: testing raw materials and purchased components at the supplier’s premises or during receiving inspection; conducting in-process inspections and tests to verify conformity to design; and performing thorough final inspections and tests on end products to ensure their optimal performance.
All final tests adhere to international standards, with results meticulously reviewed and analyzed by our engineers to guarantee flawless quality.
